Narrows Dining Table
Designed to seat ten, the Narrows Dining Table explores the tension between presence and absence. Doubled, coopered legs form a concealed interior void—an architectural space that can be sensed but never fully seen. Light moves across their curved surfaces, producing shifting gradients and shadow throughout the day.
The name references narrow canyon passages where light compresses and expands between steep walls. The tabletop edge draws from an Egyptian burial amulet observed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its soft curvature invites the hand, while the gentle radius of the top subtly turns guests inward, encouraging closeness and conversation.
